Zaden Florez, R.I.P.
By Karen Gould
Zaden Florez, who hailed from Salinas, California, was full of life, love, and a determination to be the best he could be in everything he did.
Zaden loved to ride bikes with his mom. He looked forward to playing basketball and spending time with his pup. And his passion was racing flat-track motorcycles.
Zaden began riding when he was about 5 years old, and he became a favorite everywhere he went, with his ear-to-ear smile and his easygoing spirit.
He was to ride his 85cc motorcycle for the last time before moving on to something bigger at Lodi Cycle Bowl on Saturday night, April 15. It is with great sadness that we report that, unfortunately, a tragic accident took Zaden’s young life. Zaden was airlifted from the track and passed away shortly after.
The only child of Maria and Alfred Florez, Zaden’s presence will be missed by the many people who loved him and cheered him on. Now a precious angel, he was taken far too soon. Our very deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Godspeed, Zaden. Go fast and turn left on that big track above. You won’t be forgotten. See you again, little buddy.
We are saddened to announce the passing of this talented young rider. Zaden Florez, 10 years young, of Salinas, California, succumbed to injuries sustained during a racing incident at the Lodi Cycle Bowl racetrack.
CO79 has started a fund raiser to assist Alfred and Maria Florez with end-of-life expenses. Visit http://www.amaft79.com/zaden-florez-fund.html to make a donation. Please keep the Florez family, his friends and fellow riders in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
